Dan Magnuson has served as president of Pathfinders since March 2003. He brings more than 25 years of experience in human services at both local and national levels.

Prior to his appointment, Dan served for 10 years in various executive positions with the Alliance for Children & Families, a national nonprofit association of over 300 human service organizations serving 7 million people annually. While there Dan served as President of Ways to Work, Inc., a sister organization to the Alliance, as well as director of national programs. Dan began his career in residential and youth services in southeastern Wisconsin. During the 1980s, Dan served as executive director of a community-based mental health center and developed a public delinquency prevention initiative in the Syracuse, NY area.

Over the years, Dan has also volunteered on many local and national councils dedicated to strengthening the quality of youth, family and community life. He currently serves on the board of directors the WI Association of Family and Children’s Agencies (WAFCA), and is a member of the editorial board of the journal, Families In Society, the Alliance for Children and Families’ Resource Development Advisory Committee, the Health and Policy Committees of The Partnership Council, the Milwaukee National Family Week Partnership, and Youth Mental Health Connections network.

Dan holds masters degrees from Syracuse University (MSW) and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (MA).
