Training Program
Pathfinders strengthens our community by training more than 30 students each year. Pathfinders provides excellent training opportunities for students in counseling, psychology, and social work at the undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and post-graduate level. Students help Pathfinders achieve our mission, while we help them further their professional development. Throughout Milwaukee, many practicing professionals expanded their knowledge and skills through training opportunities at Pathfinders over our 40 year history. Training opportunities at Pathfinders include: • Undergraduate students in social work and other helping professions work primarily in our Youth Shelter and Drop-In Center. Individuals interested in undergraduate internships can apply by contacting Joseph Stanley. • Master’s degree students in counseling and social work affiliate as Interns in clinical roles throughout the agency. Both individual and group supervision is provided by our Training Coordinator, an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker. A 2 or 3 semester commitment is required. This is an advanced internship for students with prior experience. Individuals interested in our Master’s level Internships can apply by submitting an application. We invite you to attend one of the following Information Sessions to learn more about Internship opportunities, and the application process: Information sessions will be held on:

New students begin their affiliations throughout the year, generally in January, June, or September. Because Pathfinders offers strong clinical training, we regularly receive a great many more applications than we are able to accept for our limited number of openings. Pathfinders is deeply committed to diversity in all that we do, and we strive to create a diverse cohort of students in our training programs. We welcome applications from diverse individuals who mirror the diversity of our clientele, and the community we serve.
